Meditations for a Clear Mind
with Prayers for World Peace
SUNDAYS
February - March
10 - 11:15 am
In these classes the meaning of clarity will be investigated: something that is empty like space, that can never possess form, and that is the basis of perceiving objects.  We will rely on the clear sky meditations to gradually reduce our distracting thoughts to begin to connect with the ocean of inner peace at our mind at our heart.  This is our Buddha nature, the union of wisdom and compassion.

The nature of our root mind is clarity. The feeling of the nature of our very subtle or root mind is freedom.  Join us as we search for our root mind through guided meditations and practical teachings on how to allow our negative thoughts to dissolve back into the clarity of our mind.  We will learn how to focus on the experience of clarity and the peaceful feeling it evokes.  When we arise from meditation and resume our normal activity we can maintain this feeling of inner peace.  We will learn how to hold on to this feeling of clarity and peace, and allow this special awareness to pervade our thoughts and feelings.
These classes include two guided meditations, a talk, and inspiring chanted prayers for world peace.

Steve Maddox

Steve is a long time Buddhist practitioner who is greatly admired for his heartfelt and informative teachings at Tushita Kadampa Buddhist Center. He has been in study programs for ten years and has received teachings from many qualified teachers. He often refers to the text during his teachings because the language is so beautiful and alone has the power to penetrate our heart. He mixes reflective listening of Dharma texts in meditation contemplations as often as possible.
