MEDITATION AND MODERN BUDDHISM
Upcoming Events and Classes:
By practicing Buddhist meditation and wisdom we can solve our daily problems of stress, anxiety, anger, uncontrolled desire, confusion, jealousy, and so on, and find deep and lasting inner peace.
And, by integrating these practical methods into our daily lives, we will not only enrich our own lives, but the lives of our families, communities, and world.
What to expect at a class:
Beginning Meditation: Each class begins with guided breathing meditation, to help settle the mind, let go of distractions and cultivate inner peace, followed by a short prayer to Buddha Shakyamuni.
Dharma Teaching: Every week the teachings explore one aspect of Dharma, or Buddha’s teachings, which focuses on how we can integrate Buddha’s timeless wisdom into our busy daily lives.
Concluding Meditation: At the end of the class, we conclude with a meditation based on the Dharma teaching that was given to help us take the teaching to heart. Opportunity for Q&A and refreshments after class.
No meditation experience or Buddhist background needed. We have comfortable chairs and cushions. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before class to sign-in and get settled. You may attend single classes or the full series. Each class is stand-alone and does not require prior attendance. Everyone is welcome!
