About Tushita Kadampa Buddhist Center

 
Tushita Kadampa Buddhist Center offers a place for the presentation of Modern Buddhism and the practice of meditation right in the downtown of Tacoma.

Everyone is welcome.Learn the causes of a peaceful and happy mind as well as how to have a meaningful life.

Classes are held on a weekly basis and you can attend a series or drop in for a single class.

Modern Buddhism

Modern Buddhism is the practical presentation of the Kadampa Buddhist tradition. This time-honored tradition has brought Buddha’s teachings and meditation practices to people throughout the world.

This development has arisen because Buddhism has a timeless and universal relevance that allows anyone in any culture, regardless of race, gender, or age to practice the instructions.

Through training in meditation and other Buddhist practices you can improve the quality of your life by developing and increasing your capacity for inner peace, compassion, and wisdom.

Why Meditation

There is a broad range of benefits coming from daily meditation. While the practices of meditation have been around since the time of Buddha Shakyamuni over 2600 years ago, modern science is just now starting to identify these benefits and encouraging people to learn how to meditate and be mindful.

To get a full appreciation of the benefits of meditation, it is necessary to find a qualified presentation and apply the techniques correctly and systematically. It is worth taking time to learn how to meditate.

About the New Kadampa Tradition

The New Kadampa Tradition is an affiliation of Kadampa Buddhist Centers and Kadampa Meditation Centers around the world. With 1300 communities engaged in following the teachings of the contemporary Kadampa master, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.

The community in Tacoma is a branch of the Tushita Kadampa Buddhist Center based out of Olympia. We have a dedicated space where offer classes.
